Meet Our Founder

Emme Hughes was raised in the trades. Her grandfather, known as Papa, owned and operated an ASME code welding shop, where fabrication wasn't a hobby—it was a profession held to the highest standards. In that environment, Hughes learned the fundamentals of metalworking at an age when most kids were focused on school sports: how heat moves through steel, how a weld should sound, and why precision matters.
At 12 years old, Hughes entered competitive motorsports, stepping into an arena where focus, mechanical instinct, and resilience determine success. Racing taught her to solve problems quickly, perform under pressure, and thrive in male-dominated industries. Her accomplishments earned media attention from KOCO and other regional outlets, highlighting both her competitive success and her growing influence as a young woman breaking barriers in traditionally male spaces.
At just 18 years old, Hughes founded EH Metal Works, transforming a lifelong passion for fabrication into a growing manufacturing company. What began as a vision to create her own place in the industry has evolved into a fabrication shop known for combining craftsmanship, innovation, and responsiveness. Under Hughes' leadership, EH Metal Works produces precision components, prototypes, custom signage, and short-run manufacturing projects for clients across the United States. Based in rural Oklahoma, the company has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality fabrication solutions without the bureaucracy often associated with larger manufacturers.
In 2023, Hughes secured a USDA Rural Entrepreneurship Grant, expanding production capacity and investing in new equipment to better serve customers nationwide. Her work and entrepreneurial journey have since gained national attention. Hughes has been featured in The Fabricator, one of the manufacturing industry's leading publications, and has appeared on nationally recognized fabrication and manufacturing podcasts, sharing her experiences as a young business owner, fabricator, and advocate for the future of American manufacturing.
In 2025, Hughes experienced the loss of her grandfather, Papa—the man who first introduced her to the trade and whose standards continue to guide her work every day. While his passing marked the end of an era, his legacy lives on through EH Metal Works, the values he instilled, and the commitment to craftsmanship that remains at the core of the company. Every project serves as a reminder of the lessons he taught: do it right, build it strong, and take pride in your work.
Today, Hughes represents a new generation of American manufacturing leadership—one that honors traditional craftsmanship while embracing innovation, entrepreneurship, and opportunity. As a fabricator, entrepreneur, and industry voice, she continues to demonstrate that manufacturing's future is being shaped by people willing to challenge expectations, create opportunities, and build something meaningful from the ground up. Through EH Metal Works, Papa's influence continues to live on in every weld, every product, and every customer served.
